ENCINO, CA – AUGUST 2, 2012 – FPA Technology Services, Inc. (FPA), the leading full service IT Consulting Firm in the Los Angeles area, attended CompTIA Breakaway 2012 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, participating in educational seminars, industry leadership roundtables and achieving program certifications.
CompTIA Breakaway is considered a premier education and training event for the IT channel, and the 2012 conference included keynote speakers, solution provider presentations and exhibits and programs on key technologies such as cloud computing, disaster recovery, and mobility (Bring Your Own Device or BYOD), as well as traditional technology and business topics. Attending the conference from FPA were Founder & CEO Craig Pollack, Chief Technology Officer Alex Kazmin, Manager of Implementation Services Matt Spero and Project Manager Scott Harrington.
According to Founder & CEO Craig Pollack, “My biggest takeaway from the conference was a confirmation of what I’ve been sensing for a while now - that our industry is in the midst of a huge change, what some are calling ‘the post PC era.’ Between the cloud and mobility (i.e., users wanting access to their systems and information from multiple devices), it's becoming less about the products sold and infrastructure involved, and more about the business-focused services a firm like FPA provides to ensure our clients’ continued success going forward.”
While at CompTIA Breakaway, Alex Kazmin and Craig Pollack both achieved attained the Executive Certificate in Cloud (Foundations and Intermediate levels), providing FPA with a more additional understanding of cloud computing technologies, the applicable opportunities for its client base, and the various roles FPA can plan in implementing these solutions for its clients. FPA met with key business partners such as Level Platforms, Datto, and StorageCraft (among others) as well as other managed service providers around the country to share in best practices, successes, as well as the “speed bumps” to avoid when implementing new solutions.
