Solution
Implement the FPA Email and Messaging Solution using Microsoft Exchange & Outlook
What is Microsoft Exchange/Outlook?
MS Exchange is a messaging and collaboration platform, installed on your server, that provides services for:
- E-mail
- Calendaring
- Contact Management
- Scheduling
- Instant Messaging
- Conferencing
MS Outlook is installed as the "client" on your desktop computers and works with Microsoft Exchange to streamline and standardize communications and collaboration within your organization. Exchange/Outlook seamlessly integrates with the Microsoft Windows® operating system, delivering enhanced reliability, manageability and performance.
What are its benefits?
With the wide adaptation of the Internet, emails and other forms of online communications have changed the ways people do business. Microsoft developed Exchange/Outlook for businesses of all sizes to harness the Internet and unite users with knowledge anytime, anywhere.
Reliable, Streamlined Communications
With MS Exchange/Outlook, business processes are streamlined and secure with built-in services such as email, document sharing, calendaring, contact and task management, discussion groups, and scheduling. The seamless integration with Microsoft Office creates a unified messaging platform for your entire organization, making everyday tasks such as sending an e-mail message from Excel, Word, or PowerPoint simple and quick.
Communications with Exchange extend beyond internal personnel, linking vendors, suppliers, and partners together with standards-based messaging. Improved collaboration infrastructure can mean better inventory control and tighter management of resources.
Reduce Costs, Increase Productivity
Exchange/Outlook integrates with professional Microsoft products such as Windows and Office Suite, keeping the cost for use and maintenance low. Hardware and software costs and the cost of migration and upgrading are greatly reduced when using Exchange on a Microsoft network.
In addition, Exchange/Outlook further reduces costs by expediting information flow throughout the company and with third party organizations. When information is accurate and immediately available, errors and miscommunications are minimized, saving time and money.
Exchange also promotes team and worker productivity while reducing system administration and management. Microsoft Exchange Conferencing Server makes it easy to implement a complete solution for data and video conferencing, cutting travel costs. Training is minimal with the usability and interface based on the same feel and function of other professional Microsoft products.
Flexible, Scalable Communications
With the FPA Email and Messaging Solution, we can build and deploy custom business solutions such as workflow and Web-based applications. Web protocols such as HTTP and XML are supported and allow for the expansion of company communications over the Internet. A built-in workflow engine with graphical design capabilities integrates with tools such as the Microsoft FrontPage® website creation and management tool.

The FPA Email and Messaging Solution Technical Process
Implementing the FPA Email and Messaging Solution begins with the initial installation and configuration of Exchange on a network server (usually one of the Win2k3 Servers). Our staff ensures that during the configuration process, the various features that make Exchange a powerful communications tool are tailored to the specific needs of the client. We then install and configure Outlook on each workstation and verify each feature is operational over the network.
Through our substantial experience working with MS Exchange and Outlook and its implementation with networked applications, we configure the settings for maximized performance and security.
